Pat Burton, a farrier in Texas, has developed effective ways to rehabilitate feet that suffer from cracking, using management rather than bar shoes or other types of special shoeing. “Every day, the hoof grows and changes. My philosophy is to try to encourage good hoof growth and try to minimize anything that would inhibit that growth or put pressure on the affected site,” he says.

Earlier this spring, the AQHA Executive Committee waived the qualification requirements for the 2020 AQHA World Championship Show due to effects of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic on the showing industry. Exhibitors and their American Quarter Horses will still need to meet Level 3, Level 2 and Level 1 eligibility requirements to compete at this year’s show. AQHA has released the list of open and amateur exhibitors who are ineligible to enter and show horses in the Adequan® Level 2 Championships at the 2020 AQHA World Show, tentatively scheduled for November 5-21 at OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.

The showing industry is cautiously returning to competition after approximately 40% of shows were cancelled or rescheduled this spring due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic. Even though shows have not been held as planned this year, AQHA would still like to take the opportunity to recognize the top AQHA shows and circuits from 2019.
