We apologize for the delay in updating, but we have officially chosen to postpone our futurity classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve chosen to do this for the safety of our exhibitors, participants, and spectators. To make up for this unfortunate circumstance, we’re holding our futurity classes during the 2020 Virginia National Stock Horse Show taking place June 4-7th at the Virginia Horse Center, Lexington VA.

“The Museum will be closed for visitors for the remainder of the month as we undergo an already planned exhibit transition and take advantage of this time to conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfecting of the building,” said Chief Foundation Officer Anna Morrison. “Our most important consideration is the health and well-being of our visitors, staff and the local community. Based on the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control Prevention (CDC), the Museum will not be holding large public events including bus tours, school field trips and special events for the next 45 days. Our staff has contacted the individuals hosting events at the Museum during this timeframe to reschedule their events.”

Many believe that their riding years are over when they attend college, unless you manage to live close to your barn, or you continue to ride after college. But, there are over 15 division one schools offering an equestrian team. Some schools that have teams include Auburn University, Baylor University, Georgia, Oklahoma State University, University of South Carolina, South Dakota State University, Southern Methodist University in Texas, and Texas A&M.
