A new addition to the 2018 Arizona Sun Circuit this year is the National Snaffle Bit Association Riders’ Cup that joined the festivities in Scottsdale, Arizona for their fourth annual event. With an estimated purse of $75,000 and those coveted silver cups, exhibitors were eager to take a break from competing in their regularly scheduled classes for the chance to win some big checks and great prizes.
Classes include Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Trail, Western Riding, Showmanship, Horsemanship, and Equitation in a variety of open, non-pro, and limited divisions. In order to compete, the trainer of each entry must have donated one month’s training and sold through the NSBA Trainer Sale. If a trainer’s entry didn’t participate, they could pay $500 and still be eligible. In addition, the horse owner must have nominated their horse under the name of the trainer for a $100 fee. The purse is created from the sale of training services, owner nominations, and a portion of the entry fee.
The 2018 NSBA Riders’ Cup kicked off yesterday, and we have results!
