2017 NSBA Horse of the Year is Made N The Shade

NSBA announced yesterday that the 4-year-old AQHA gelding, Made N The Shade, is the 2017 NSBA Horse of the Year. “Mikey” accumulated 78 points and earned $40,560.99 in earnings in Western Pleasure classes on his way to achieving this prestigious title.
This 4-year-old, AQHA gelding by Machine Made is owned by Natasha Blanchard of Texas and is currently in training with Rusty Green Show Horses.

The Equine Chronicle has had the opportunity to interview Natasha about Mikey several times, including at the 2017 All American Quarter Horse Congress when she piloted him to win her first Congress futurity title in the 3-Year-Old Limited Non Pro Western Pleasure. They also placed fifth in Amateur Western Pleasure at the show. Natasha and Mikey also scored a third place finish in Amateur Western Pleasure at the World Show that year.

Back in 2016, Andy Cochran rode Mikey to win his first AQHA World Championship title in 2-Year-Old Western Pleasure.
