WHY: Congress Announces Elite Series!
The 2016 World Wide Paint Horse Congress is fast approaching and show management has announced yet another addition to the show schedule, a new Elite Series of classes that aim to recognize and reward outstanding non-pro and limited competitors.
“We’re continuing the tradition of staging a ‘limited’ event at this year’s Congress by offering three Limited Horse/Limited Non Pro classes: Trail, Hunter Under Saddle and Western Pleasure,” says Show Manager Karen Kennedy. “We’re adding to the mix a 3-Year-Old Western Pleasure Jackpot class.”
“The Trail class will be held following the Congress judged trail on Friday, July 29th, with the Hunter Under Saddle, Western Pleasure, and 3-Year-Old Western Pleasure Jackpot on Saturday, July 30, in the Ford Truck Arena following the Congress show classes.”
Elite Series and Elite Saddles
“A huge thank you to Jon and Joslyn Carpenter, owners of Elite Custom Saddles, for donating a work saddle for the Champion of both the Limited Horse/Non Pro Western Pleasure and Limited Horse/Non Pro Trail,” says Sponsor Chair Clea Bobbitt. “Elite Custom Saddles, recently acquired by the Carpenters, has partnered with the American Paint Horse Association and will award saddles for the new Power Performance High Point program at the APHA World Shows.”
“Also, thanks to James Saubolle of Elite Show Horses, the Hunter Under Saddle Champion will be awarded an english saddle. James donated an Elite Custom Saddle last year for the Champion of the Limited Trail class, and we’re most appreciative of his continued support.”
“A new sponsor for this event is Jeff Fischer, an avid supporter of non pro events. Thanks to Jeff, Reserve Champions in each Non Pro class will be awarded a Kathy’s Show Equipment custom trophy buckle. Also, thanks goes to Gary and Lynn Wasson, Wasson Performance Horses, and Megan and Sabrina Seehafer. The Wassons and Seehafers have always been involved with the Congress special events, and this year is no exception. We appreciate their contribution again this year.”
100% Payback – 3 Year Old Western Pleasure
Karen Kennedy is pleased to announce a new class has been added to the Elite Series. “100% of the entry fees for the 3-Year-Old Western Pleasure will be jackpotted and paid out to the Open riders and the Limited riders. This class will take place following the Non Pro classes on Saturday. We’re currently working on sponsorships for this class.”
