The countdown clock for the 2016 Built Ford Tough AQHA Youth World Championship Show is ticking off the final few days before the main event gets underway August 5-13 in Oklahoma City. The show office stats are in, and the final entry count indicates that 2,180 entries from the U.S., Australia, Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom will compete for 35 World Championships at this year’s show.
A total of 1,096 horses and 761 exhibitors will compete in a variety of disciplines. The total number of entries is 2,182 with the largest segment being Western with 1,417, 427 in English, and 338 in Halter.
The youngest exhibitor to compete at the show this year is only 6 years old! What class do you think he/she will be showing in?… The younger segment of competitors is considerable this year with 285 in 13 and under.
Like in the past, the class with the most entries is Youth Horsemanship with 167, followed by Showmanship with 148, and Trail with 135. Ranch Riding makes an impressive showing as the fourth largest class with 128 entries. Hunt Seat Equitation wraps up the top five with 122 entries.
Where exactly are these AQHA youth competitors coming from? 45 states across the United States, two provinces in Canada, as well as Australia, Ireland, and The United Kingdom.
