The 2014 Redbud Spectacular kicked off yesterday in Oklahoma City and will continue through June 6th. AQHA competitors will show three times, halter twice, for eight sets of points.
Judges at the show include Jason Hershberger, Jeff Chapman, Jeff Petska, Terry Thompson, Kim Myers, Jeff Allen, Jennifer Leckey, Jessica Gilliam, Ronnie Casper, Ronald Stratton, Dolly Chayer, Ed Dingledine, Bob Johnson, Luke Jones, Jennifer Thompson, Ann Pennington, Kim Hall, Nancy Alto Renfro, Beckey Schooler, Steven Cooper, Gary Duffy, Jay Mullen, Clint Haverty, Doug Milholland, Kristen Lilley, Roger Brazeau, and Ray Conrad.
On Tuesday, June 3rd, stop by the Super Barn for the Progressive Dinner Party at 8 pm. In addition, the Oklahoma Youth Association will be hosting the second annual Dog Show during the Dinner Party with special trophies for categories like Best Trick, Best Costume, Look-A-Like, Prettiest Dog, Ugliest Dog, Dog Race, and High Jump.
Other special events include the Jerry Wells Memorial Halter Futurity on Saturday and the Huntfield Hunter Derby qualifier for the NQHL Finals. The Futurity will take place in Barn 8 with an estimated purse of $30,000 to be paid out. Both rounds of the Derby will be held on June 5th.
Blue Ribbon saddles will be presented to the All Around Open Horse, All Around Youth 13 & Under, All Around Youth 14-18, All Around Amateur, and All Around Amateur Select. Shorty’s hats will be presented to the All Around Novice Youth, All Around Novice Amateur, and All Around Small Fry.
