During the past week, the top exhibitors and horses from around the world have competed at the 2014 AQHA World Championship Show at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City.
The 2014 Farnam Superhorse Award is the top honor at the AQHA World Show. It is awarded to the horse that earns the most points in three or more events in two categories during the show. This year, 49 contenders competed for the Farnam Superhorse Award.
Twisters Enola Rey was crowned the 2014 Farnam Superhorse on November 22. The 2009 sorrel gelding, who is by Dual Rey and out of Twisters Enola Gay, was shown by owner and breeder AQHA Professional Horseman C.R. Bradley of Collinsville, Texas. The pair earned 33 points, earning the world championship title in junior tie-down roping and reserve championship title in junior heeling.
The Farnam Superhorse receives $25,000, plus $2,000 of Farnam product, a WeatherBeeta blanket, an original Lisa Perry bronze and a rose bouquet.
The Reserve Farnam Superhorse was Dirty Sexy Money, owned by Janet and Kent Martin of Wells, Texas. The 2007 gray gelding, who is by Sheiks Big Leaguer and out of Fight Over Emmie, was bred by Melissa Ann Miller of Belton, Texas.
Dirty Sexy Money was shown in three classes by AQHA Professional Horseman Chuck Briggs of Azle, Texas; Virginia Beaton of Middleport New York; and Brian Homes of Purcell, Oklahoma. The team earned 26 points. Dirty Sexy Money won the reserve championship title in senior working hunter and placed fifth in senior hunter hack and senior pleasure driving.
The Reserve Farnam Superhorse received a price package that included $10,000, plus $1,000 in Farnam Product.
Placing third was Snap Krackle Pop, owned by Twylla Lynn Brown of Perry, Missouri. The 2010 gray mare, who is by RL Best Of Sudden and out of Brandys Silver Sheik, was bred by Masterson Farms LLC of Somerville, Tennessee. Snap Krackle Pop was shown by Blake Weis of Moberly, Missouri. The pair earned 25 points. Snap Krackle Pop won the reserve championship title in junior trail and placed fifth in junior western riding.
Placing fourth was Smart Nu Shiner, owned by Joyce Tisdall of Castle Rock, Colorado. The 2010 buckskin stallion, who is by Smart Shiner and out of Annies Lu Lena, was bred by Carol Rose of Gainesville, Texas. Smart Nu Shiner was shown by AQHA Professional Horseman J.D. Yates of Pueblo, Colorado. The pair earned 24 points in three classes. Smart Nu Shiner placed fourth in junior heeling and seventh in aged stallions and junior ranch horse pleasure.
Placing fifth was Go Big Sky, who is owned by Rodger Call of Fort Worth, Texas. The 2001 gray gelding, sired by Skys Blue Boy and out of Marks Favorite, was bred by Melissa Cason of Bigfork, Montana. Go Big Sky earned a total of 23 points, earning the reserve world championship titles in senior pleasure driving and senior hunter hack. Go Big Sky was shown by Jason Martin of Pilot Point, Texas and Linda Crothers of Stuart, Florida.
The third- through fifth-place Farnam Superhorses each receive $2,500 plus $500 in Farnam Product.

AQHA also named the 2014 Oklahoma City Leading Owner and Reserve Leading Owner at the AQHA World Show on November 22.
The Oklahoma City Leading Owner Award is given to the ownership that earns the most points at the AQHA World Show. To be eligible for the award, at least three horses must be entered, shown and in the same ownership.
Vernon Habighorst of Phoenix, was named the 2014 Oklahoma City Leading Owner. Habighorst had nine horses qualified and earned a total of 122 points, competing in 18 classes during this year’s show.
Habighorst earned the world championship titles in amateur 2-year-old geldings, amateur aged geldings and aged geldings, and reserve championship titles in amateur aged geldings, amateur aged mares, amateur 3year-old fillies, amateur 2-year-old fillies, amateur weanling fillies, 2-year-old geldings and 3-year-old fillies. Habghorst’s horses also placed third in aged geldings and 2-year-old fillies; fifth in amateur yearling geldings; seventh in yearling geldings; eighth in aged mares; and were finalists in yearling mares and amateur yearling mares.
The Oklahoma City Leading Owner received a prize package that included a specially commissioned bronze, presented by the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce and a bouquet of flowers.
Kelli Jensen of Freeland, Michigan, was named the 2014 Reserve Leading Owner. Jensen had six horses qualify and compete at the AQHA World Show. Jensen won world championship titles in amateur yearling colts and amateur aged stallions, and reserve championship titles in amateur weanling geldings and aged stallions. Jensen’s horses also placed third in amateur weanling stallions, fourth in amateur 2-year-old fillies, fifth in amateur aged mares, seventh in yearling colts and 2-year-old fillies, and 10th in aged mares.
