The American Paint Horse Association will continue its new Paint-specific reining awards program at the 2014 High Roller Reining Classic, set for September 13-20 in Las Vegas.

The new partnership created between APHA and the High Roller Reining Classic features exciting new opportunities for reining Paints.

Custom Gist buckles will be awarded in both aged events and ancillary classes. In aged events, the buckles will be awarded to the highest-placing registered Paint Horses. In the NRHA Non Pro, Rookie Non Pro, Youth and Open classes, the buckles will go to the high-point Paint that competes in both slates of classes.

12 APHA buckles will awarded in the following events:

  •  Lucas Oil Open Derby
  •  Protect the Harvest Non Pro Derby
  •  High Roller Reining Classic Non Pro Futurity
  •  High Roller Reining Classic Open Futurity
  • Whizkey N Diamonds Open Stakes
  • Whizkey N Diamonds Non Pro Stakes
  •  SmartPak Non Pro Maturity
  • Open ancillary
  • Non Pro ancillary
  • Youth ancillary
  • Rookie ancillary

“The Paint Horse breed is dynamic, versatile and athletic—qualities that go hand-in-hand with the sport of reining,” APHA Director of Business Development Kalyn Sanders said. “The High Roller Reining Classic provides a great opportunity to showcase high-achieving Paint Horses and reward these exceptional horses and exhibitors with some extra recognition from APHA.”

Paint entries at Vegas are eligible for some important additional benefits, too.

Exhibitors or owners who still need to register his or her horse with APHA can save $15 by doing so with the fast and easy online registration program. An older horse registration promotion of $100 for the Regular Registry and $50 for the Solid Paint-Bred Registry is also in effect, offering deep discounts for performance-age horses.

APHA’s friendly MemberCare team is ready to help with any questions regarding registration or the online process. Call MemberCare at (817) 222-6423 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. CST.

Owners who opt to submit registration paperwork by mail should write HIGH ROLLER REINING on the front of the envelope to receive complimentary rush processing—up to a $100 value!
