The Nebraska Quarter Horse Association is pulling out all the stops this year to ensure that the 2018 Cornhusker Classic will be the best yet. A whopping $100,000 in payouts will be presented during the event, which will take place during six full shows June 15-24 in Lincoln, NE. Judging the show will be Jessica Gilliam, Brad Kearns, Beckey Schooler, Kendra Weis, Terry Cross, and Dean Bogart.
Show Manager Michelle Forness remarks on the extreme growth the Cornhusker has seen over the past few years. “It’s a very evolving show, for sure,” she says. “It’s never the same, which makes it a challenge with so many moving parts. It has changed so much in the last four years from a 4,000 entry AQHA show to 7,000 entries. Now, we host a full slate of NSBA dual approved classes and futurities with almost $18,000 in added money, along with the Premier Quarter Sires Limited division classes.”
In addition, the show will offer $4,000 in added money in the Limited Open Heading and Heeling and Non Pro Heading and Heeling. The show is also a host of an ARHFA (American Rope Horse Futurity Association) event.

An exciting new addition to the show this year are Equine Chronicle Bucks that will be presented to competitors in random class drawings. That’s $500 a day for classes taking place June 15-19, totaling $2,500 for the show!
Competitors can also vie for a Blue Ribbon Show Halter, which will be presented to the High Point Level 1 Youth in Youth Showmanship. This award is being donated by Blue Ribbon Tack and Bunting Performance Horses.
Other fun events during the show include a Wine Tasting Party from James Arthur Vineyard and Craft Beer Tasting from Broiler Brew Company. There will also be a Mimosa and Bloody Mary Party during Halter classes, compliments of Willybeuptonogood and Brickham Quarter Horses.
